Clear and windy.

After sleeping in the tent, (yeah, go ahead, call me a wimp) we woke up to sunshine and more wind. The wind blew a layer of dust onto everything. There was even a layer of test inside the tent on my sleeping bag. I don't mean the standard household dust-on-the-table dust either. It was inside the vacuum bag dusty. Here is the nice clean tan snow. It wasn't as noticable until a person skied over it and the contrast with the white snow became visible.

Nate and his gear.

Entering the canyon.

Nate poses by a large icicle. He wishes he could have climbed it but it was just out of reach. I managed to capture Nate's thoughts for while taking this series of photographs. We'll pick up in the middle of Nate's thought process. "But the other icicle in the corner, now that doesn't look like it's too high up off the ground."
