The next four pictures contain humpback whales breaching near Angoon, Alaska. It is incredible to see animals of this size playing the way they do. The following pictures appear to be in sequence. However, these pictures were taken in a span of about five minutes from the first breach to the last. In fact, I'm not even sure if the whale in the pictures was the same one. I saw this particular pod of six or seven whales three consecutive days after work.
Very nice.
This is the most nicest shot they gave me. After this particular breach, my co-worker with 30 years of SE Alaskan experience, commented that he had never seen a humpback whale completely out of the water, tail and all, like this one was a moment after this picture was taken.
The Splash!
Inside a limestone cave I found in SE Alaska, looking out at the world. I took this picture while holding the camera above my head.
