Bath Time 2.18.15

Bath time is fun at our house!  Jeralyn asks almost every day, "Is it gonna be bath night tonight?"

He has the longest lashes!

Little Cuties 2.17.15

It's been more "dry" out recently, so we've been playing on the deck.  Jeralyn likes to color with chalk on the deck.  We make mermaids, princesses, and turtles.

I think this is a turtle (above).

And I think I have some pretty cute kids!

Mister Moo (as I call him) has so much energy!  I can't even count how many times I say, "I don't remember Jeralyn doing that."  Ha!  Quent did warn me about how different boys can be than girls.  Um...yeah!  I'm seeing it now!  He doesn't really stop moving.  He has places to go!  I'm a pretty organized, routine kind of person who tries her best to keep things "aligned", but he still manages to play in toilet water, throw all of his food and plate off the table, knock chairs onto himself, climb on things, etc.  Whew!!  And then I look into those blue eyes (or at least see them flash by me as he dashes (crawls) away) and my heart just melts all over the place.

My Valentine 2.14.15

It was so cute because Jeralyn was really excited about Valentine's day.  She kept referring to it as a "holiday" and it was so sweet to see her so excited!  She had her last swim class this morning for that set of swim classes and she enjoyed making some Valentine's Day crafts.  She made her own crown as you can see below.

After her swim class, we went on a date.  We went to lunch and then she wanted to look for a mermaid dress.  We found one at Walmart, but then she saw this other dress-up dress so she picked that one instead.  It's Rapunzel's dress from Tangled.  But she still talks about dressing up like a mermaid.

Heart Cookies 2.13.15

Jeralyn and I made some heart-shaped cookies for Valentine's Day.  She enjoyed helping.  I had to remind her a few times not too eat too much of the decorations.  I didn't want her to experience what I did when I was her age after decorating cookies (as I'm sure my aunt and grandparents can remember).

I love that she loves helping in the kitchen.  I admit, I've never been very good at sharing my kitchen, but I'm learning.  And now I look forward to making things with her.

Messy Messy 2.12.15

I don't remember what he was eating here, but he was having fun putting it in his hair and eyebrows!

Play-Dough "A" 2.9.15

I found an idea on Pinterest and a homeschooling website to mold play-dough to letters.  So I printed off the letter "A", laminated it, and then Jeralyn made "A" with play-dough.  She's really good at it!

Hello 2.8.15

Bedtime Story 2.6.15

Play 2.5.15

This particular week I watched my friend's daughter Abby during the day.  Jeralyn had fun having her friend every day to play.

Resting on the couch (with Shelly).

Jeralyn's really been into playing with playdough.  I showed her how to make people and she's really been into that ever since.  Currently, she's been into making mermaids.

And of course Joshua wants in on the action as well.

So Cute! 2.4.15

Painting "blueberries"

One of Jeralyn's preschool books is Blueberries For Sal by Robert McCloskey.  Such a great book!  So she painted some blueberries and then we glued Popsicle sticks on after.

Deck Play 1.26.15

I throw some layers on Josh and we play on the wet deck.  It's what we do in Southeast Alaska.  :)

Push to Walk 1.25.15

Joshua likes to push things and walk with them.  He uses this cart, a chair, a stool, whatever he can find.  He's getting closer to walking on his own, but it could still be awhile (as we learned from Jeralyn who didn't walk until 15 months).

Spaghetti Face 1.24.15

Cupcakes 1.20.15

For Jeralyn's preschool, we read a book called Ask Mr. Bear.  It's about a little boy who wants to get his mother a gift and so he asks different animals for help.  An idea in the curriculum we are following, they suggested watching a short video of Alice In Wonderland when they are singing the Happy Un-Birthday song.  So we had an un-birthday celebration and made homemade chocolate cupcakes!

Yum!

Here comes trouble 1.20.15

Joshua is on the move!  Of course he has been for awhile, but he's like REALLY on the move!

He likes to stand by the baby gate and try to figure out how to open it.

Instagram December 2014 - January 2015

I haven't posted Instagram photos for awhile now.  But since I didn't use my actual camera to take pics for a few weeks, it's only fair that I share these photos.

Jeralyn asked me to put Joshua in a basket so she could push him around.  She pushed him into the kitchen and then pretended it was time for him to sleep.  She gave him blankets and stuffed animals.

Big boy is standing alongside things a lot these days and "cruising".

Could they be any more cute?

Jeralyn eating a delicious chocolate chip cookie from a batch we baked together.

We made homemade play-dough.  Keeps her busy for awhile.  Notice the dress?  That's her Cinderella dress-up dress--which she literally wears all the time.

She's been taking swim lessons since the end of December.  She's doing really well!  She loves it!

Joshua napping.  See his puppy dog underneath him?

So this photo is for "scale".  A couple of days before this we had 10 inches of rain (in two days) AND an extremely high tide.  So combine those together and the ocean water was up to the bottom of the green fence and splashing into the parking lot.  It was CRAZY!!  I think the average precipitation for January was 1 inch a day.  I never feel this way, but I was tired of the rain.

Mommy and Joshua exploring the beach together for a few minutes before another rain squall came through.

Jeralyn doing a turtle craft on some cool watercolor paper we made the previous day.

Mister Moo's first day using a plate.  He did very well.  He's been using a plate for weeks now and only has knocked it to the ground a handful of times.

Painting "blueberries".

"What?  You want me to crawl around in the wet grass?"

Jeralyn asked to feed Joshua his morning bottle.  She did such a great job and Joshua didn't mind a bit. :)

Jeralyn doing a sorting project.  She loves "learning time" (homeschool preschool).

I made whipped topping and both kids licked the beaters.  They are so cute!
