Father's Day 6.17.12

Quent's first Father's Day!

Cream Cheese 6.17.12

One of Jeralyn's favorite foods is a rice cake with cream cheese spread on top.  She likes to pick or lick off the cream cheese first.  And paint her face with it...

Paula's Visit 6.15.12

Our friend Paula from Wrangell came for a visit.  She and Jeralyn had a fun time together!

Sippy 6.14.12

Here is Jeralyn taking a break from playing to drink from her straw sippy cup.  Love this girl!

Yeehaw! 6.14.12

She's a little too small for her rocking horses, but we like to play on them anyway.

This wooden one was given to us many years ago from my Dad and Kelly.  She knows what she's supposed to do when she gets on it, but she doesn't get too wild with it yet.

The furry rocking horse is an early birthday gift from Grandpa and Grandma Smith.  I taught her how to pet the horse's face/nose.  She likes to sit on top of this one, but she has to be assisted.  She understands to hold on.  When you press the ear it makes a "neigh" sound.  She enjoys that!

Blueberry Lover 6.13.12

I love her blueberry face!

Laundry Room 6.12.12

She likes to watch the washer and dryer when they are in use.

And also likes to stand with the laundry basket.

Blanket Time 6.12.12

Each day (at least once) we do something we call "blanket time" with Jeralyn.  Right now this happens after her first bottle feeding of the day and then sometimes in the afternoon/evening.  Right now she's at 12 minutes, but it started out at 5 minutes (goal is 30 minutes).  We tell her, "It's blanket time!" and then we set out her special giraffe-print blanket with some toys (we have to be creative with the toys sometimes) and then we set a timer.  We do have to remind her to stay on the blanket and some days she's better at staying on than others.  I'm hoping this will come in handy in the future and I'm already seeing the benefits of it.  Here I have her set up in the kitchen, but we do this in several places in our house.

Hi Kitty Cat 6.11.12

I have found Tigger lounging around on Jeralyn's changing pad several times.  He just thinks it's the best spot!  And as Jeralyn would say when she sees Tigger, "Hi kitty-cat!"  She LOVES the kitties!

Pizza 6.10.12

Quent and I made grilled pizza for dinner.  It was our first time grilling pizza and it was so good!  We will do it again soon, but will change a few things to perfect the pizza.  Jeralyn thought it was yummy, too!

Here she is before her first bite.

First bite!

She liked it!  I did end up cutting the pizza up into smaller pieces.  She ate most of her small slice, plus some extra mushrooms!

I also wanted to mention that Jeralyn got her 3rd tooth last week on June 4th!  It's her left upper front tooth.  And the one right next to it will be popping through any day now.  I keep checking, but she doesn't like me looking in her mouth, so I have to find creative ways to do so.  She's done pretty well with teething so far.

Roofing and a Visitor 6.9.12

Over the weekend Quent and a couple of guys reshingled our roof.  It was quite the project and a lot of pounding, but it wasn't as loud as I thought it was going to be.  Jeralyn slept downstairs for her naps so the pounding wouldn't be directly overhead.  I had to fans on full-blast to block out noise and she slept GREAT!

One of the guys helping Quent is RJ and his wife Samantha came over for dinner on Saturday.  She was babysitting a girl named Morgan.  She was wearing a skirt like Jeralyn has, so I put the skirt on Jeralyn so they could look alike.  It was cute!  Here's a picture of the two of them:

Rubber Ducky 6.8.12

She's so cute during bath time!  On bath nights after her last bottle of the day, I ask Quent to start the bath water and as soon as she hears that water running she gets really excited!  She starts to kick and squirm, wanting to head to the bathroom as quickly as possible.  Now that she can stand she watches the water fill the tub from the side of the tub.  She squeals in delight!

Making a Mess 6.6.12

I remember when our nephew Jackson was here and he was really interested in this end table we have that has doors.  I said it was okay for him to open and shut the doors, but not to pull out what was inside.  And then Jeralyn got to the point of interest and I decided to just let it be.  There are a lot of things she's not allowed to open, pull out, touch, etc., so I thought this one area would be okay.  It's just CD cases and old cassette tapes (that I need to get rid of).  And she has a lot of fun making a mess!  As you can see...

Instagram: May 19-June 7

Radishes from our garden.

Eating outside.

Eating lasagna or something messy with sauce.

She loves her swing and doesn't ever want to come out.

Our rhododendrons are blooming this year!  Last year only two plants bloomed.  So happy!

Some tears after bonking her head on the floor.

Kah-Kah 6.4.12

This is a really cute video of Jeralyn mimicking me.  Check it out!

Lasagna 6.2.12

On June 1st we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary!  We went to dinner and a movie while our neighbors watched the baby.  She did great!  I don't think she even missed us.

Over the weekend I made lasagna and she enjoyed it so much!  Actually, I think she enjoyed it so much that it might be right up there in her top 5 favorites.

Daddy and the Balloon 5.30.12

Quent was watching some baseball online and spending time with Jeralyn.  She was holding onto the balloon she got me for Mother's Day and it looks like she was enjoying the game too!

A Box of Diapers 5.29.12

Who would have thought a brand new box of diapers would be such an exciting thing?  Jeralyn thought the pictures of babies on the sides of the box were pretty cool.  And then she would stand holding onto the box.  She was being super cute!

After dinner playing 5.26.12

After dinner she plays for a bit in the livingroom, and then we like to get outside for a walk or to play in the yard depending on the weather.  Otherwise we stay inside and play.  I can't remember what we did this day, but from the looks of it, it was probably raining outside.

And this is what our livingroom looks like when I'm too lazy to pick up (I'm not talking about her toys).

See those wicker baskets underneath the coffee table?  She loves to pull the weaved wicker out, which is a big NO.  She's starting to catch on.  Now we like to sing the "uh-oh" song.  When she is getting into something she's not supposed to we say, "Uh-oh!"  She stops immediately and looks at us.  And then we move her to a different area.  It's a trick we learned from a parenting book and we like it so much better than other methods we were attempting to use.

Spaghetti 5.26.12

It was a messy meal, but a lot of fun!  It was bow-tie noodles with sauce and peas.  She seems to really enjoy pasta!  She is such a good eater!  She makes her mama proud!

Daddy Time 5.26.12

One of the fun things about daddy's is that they spin you around, throw you up in the air, and put you on their shoulders!  And there are lots of giggles to go around!

5.25.12

Here's what happened that day in pictures:

I have a photo album of her own that holds some pictures of family.  She loves looking through it and seeing everyone's pictures, especially of the babies and younger children.

It was really nice out this day so we used a high chair that was passed down to us to use outside.  I believe her lunch this day was chicken, carrots, and watermelon (which was the first time she had it).

I think this picture of her is hilarious.  I think she knows that she's supposed to be cute for the camera now, but she also knows there's a bright flash in her future.

She wasn't sure what to do with the corn on cob.  I ended up having to cut the corn off and then she ate it off her tray.

We bought a Kidco tent for her to use for an upcoming trip.  She climbed right inside!
