Ornament 12.15.13

Before decorating the tree, we gave Jeralyn a present to unwrap.  It's an ornament of the sea turtles from Finding Nemo (which is one of her favorite movies).

Love her expression!

SO excited!

This is an expression she has when she's really excited about something and talking a mile a minute.

Do you notice her blue hands and lips?  She ate blueberries for breakfast that morning and they were stained most of the day.

And then we had fun torturing Tigger with a kitty Santa hat.

Lights 12.14.13

We tried to imitate the photos we took of Jeralyn last year with the Christmas lights, but I don't think we came close to it.  What do you think?

Cookie Decorating 12.14.13

And then it was time to decorate the cookies...

Licking the beaters.

Taking a little break to play with Legos.

And now on to the serious decorating.

And the first lick...followed by many more.  I admit that this made me a bit nervous since I used to get sick after decorating Christmas cookies when I was younger (remember that Aunt Mary?), because I would eat a lot of the frosting and sprinkles.  I had to set a limit so the same wouldn't happen to her.

She loved decorating the turtles.

Cheesy

Silly girl!

Cookies! 12.14.13

We made some sugar cookies.  Jeralyn was a big help and enjoyed sneaking the cookie dough (she gets that from her Daddy).

Little fingers touching a cookie on the baking sheet before baking.

Press!

Press!

Her little dough snack.

And yes, we even had some turtle cookies (that I traced and cut out myself).

Love this girl!

Christmas Tree 12.14.13

Cutting down a Christmas tree was an interesting endeavor this year since Quent's knee is sprained and I am pregnant.  At one point we thought we would just buy a real tree, but the Salvation Army sold all of their trees and for some reason Walmart didn't have any this year (as far as I could tell).  I'm not ready for an artificial tree, so we decided we would just cut one down anyway and just take our sweet old time.  Quent got a map from the Forest Service which told us where we can cut a tree (it changes each year).  We drove out the road, parked, and then braved the pouring rain to find our tree.  We walked up a hill a little ways and Quent scouted out a tree (a bull pine).  It was wet and the muskeg ground was super soggy.

Jeralyn and Quent holding up the tree Quent had just cut.

Doesn't she look impressed?

Time for a picture with Mommy!

This picture is blurry, but I love our smiling faces!

We were so happy to finally have our tree!

25 Weeks 12.5.13

I thought I would show what I looked like at 25 weeks this pregnancy (on the right), compared to 25 weeks pregnant with Jeralyn (left).  My belly is rounder this time, but I would say I'm about the same size as I was then.  What do you think?

Beater Licking 12.5.13

She loves licking the beaters!  This time it was chocolate frosting!

Silly Girl 12.4.13

Jeralyn is becoming quite expressive.  I think this time she was helping me bake something.  When she's "helping" me she sits on the counter and she helps dump things into a bowl.  Sometimes she gets to taste some things as well.  She likes to help her mama!

Awww 12.1.13

I thought these pictures of Nate and Levi were so sweet!

Ski 11.30.13

Here are a few photos of when Quent, Nate, and their friend Troy went skiing.  They weren't gone too long though because Quent sprained his knee.
