Cleaning 3.20.13

Somebody...cough, cough...colored the floor with a crayon.  So I got a Magic Eraser wet and she had fun cleaning it up!  No really, she had fun!  Ha!  Mommy's little helper!

St. Patrick's day 3.17.13

We started the day with green shamrock pancakes!

And Jeralyn did some reading...

And coloring...

And eating soup...

And playing outside!

Reading and coloring 3.14.13

A girl after her mother's heart...

I was making dinner and she was reading a magazine quietly on the couch.

I figured out that she does a lot better with having the crayons in a cup than what I had them in before.  This way they don't roll off the table.

Library 3.14.13

Each Thursday we go to the library for story time.  Jeralyn really enjoys this!  She is really good about sitting on my lap and listening quietly to the stories being read (although it wasn't like that the first few times).  And I've even tried to have her sit on the floor without me, but she just finds my lap anyways.  In fact, last week she showed me that any lap will do as she climbed into a little boy's lap.  He gave her this weird look like, "What are you doing?"  I laughed and brought her over to me.

Before and after the stories are read, they have play time.  This isn't the greatest photo taken with my camera, but you can see what a part of the play area looks like.

The new library opened in January and it's SO beautiful!  Here is a really beautiful tree someone created for the children's section.  I should take my real camera some time and take pictures of it to show just how neat it is.

And here she is coloring at the library.  It was a week of coloring for this girl.

Playground 3.12.13

The sun was shining and it was a perfect day to get out of the house after she napped, so we went to the rec center playground outside.  It's perfect for toddlers!  She enjoyed her time there very much!  If it was warmer we would have stayed longer.

A nice view of Deer Mountain.

"Weeeeee..."

She called this "Shelly".  Haha!

Sea "Shelly" 3.11.13

Grandma sent a box of goodies and along with it came a sea turtle "Shelly" for Jeralyn.  She just loves turtles!  I think she gets it from her grandma! *wink*

Dinner company 3.10.13

We had our friends Paul and Vicky over for dinner this Sunday night.  I used to work for Vicky at her coffee shop.  They are like family away from home and are so sweet to invite us over for family birthdays, holidays, and just because.  Jeralyn climbed up into Vicky's lap and wanted to know if she had "Melmo" or babies on her phone.

More Cloud Dough 3.8.13

Jeralyn now points to the container holding this sweet bliss above our cupboards and says in her own rendition, "Cloud dough!"  That means, "Mama, I would like to sit on a towel on the floor to eat and play with cloud dough."  She loves it!

The "potty" is never too far away.

And this is what her face looks like afterwards.

Sunshine! 3.6.13

We had a few nice days this week and we took advantage of the sun by playing outside.

Purple girl 3.6.13

I just want to kiss those lips and cheeks!

I bought some Color Wonder markers/paper for Jeralyn.  She spent more time taking the cap on/off the marker than she actually did with coloring.  And now when we ask her what color something is she says, "Weh-Whoa" (yellow).  So cute!

Hello! 3.5.13

Me and my girl 3.4.13

Potty Training 3.3.13

And so a new adventure begins...potty training!  And she is doing GREAT!  She picked up on it fast!  No more diapers!  And yes, I'm one of those who wanted to start early.  I also followed John Rosemond's method in his book Toilet Training Without Tantrums.  This method fit us all perfectly.  Very simple approach.

Emma 3.2.13

We went to my friend Valoree's house for dinner this Saturday night.  She enjoyed playing with Valoree's daughter, Emma.

Bedtime Story 2.28.13

Friend 2.27.13

We met some friends at the Rec Center: Jessica, Zeke, and Kiya.  Here's Jeralyn checking out Kiya.  So cute!

Tower 2.25.13

She's getting really good at building towers with her blocks.

Playing Outside 2.25.13

Jeralyn still loves to swing, even when it's cold out!  It was NICE to see the sun this day.  It was right before this that we had 49 consecutive days with measurable precipitation.  So we welcomed the sun!

February 23, 2013

Happy birthday to my mama!

This was the second to the last day of Joy's visit.

Jeralyn reading to Grace...or Grace reading to Jeralyn. ??

Joy and I

Jeralyn has figured out that she can plug her ears.  And she does it at funny times!

Video: One 2.10.13

I've been teaching Jeralyn how to hold up one finger to say she is 1 year old.  I can't remember if she actually holds up one finger in this video, but she's cute to watch anyway.

Video: "Purples" 2.1.13

Jeralyn calls grapes "purples".  I guess somewhere she heard us talk about grapes being purple, so that's how she correlated it.

Video: Rec Center 2.1.13

We go to the rec center to play about once a week.  Half of the gym has balls, scooters, and other toys for them to run around and play with.  It's a lot of fun for Jeralyn and we have met some friends!

Friends 2.22.13

My friend Joy and her family were in Ketchikan for her son's wrestling tournament.  They stayed with us and it was so nice to visit with them!

One of the days we went to a kitchen/toy store called Simply Bella.  It's one of my favorite stores ever!  Jeralyn likes to play with the train set display.

This is out of order, but I caught her stuffing her pajamas with the fabric squares again. Silly girl!

After we came back from the kitchen store, we played for awhile at the house before we ate lunch.  I will post a video of her interacting with Grace and Alisha. It's cute!

She likes to walk around in Daddy's slippers.

The New Shelly 2.19.13

At the grocery store, there are some stuffed animals in the florist section.  We just happened to be walking over by that area and I spotted the Shelly's (stuffed animal turtles) on a shelf.  Without thinking, I pointed out Shelly to Jeralyn and she was like, "Sha-Sha!"  And then I took one off the shelf and put it into her opened arms.  I couldn't resist!  She hugged her new Shelly the whole time we shopped and I saw her kissing her at times too.  She just LOVES Shelly!  So now we have a back-up in case if something happens to the real Shelly.
