Lookin' Cute 9.30.11

My friend Crystal sent us a super cute outfit for Jeralyn.  It's size 3-months, but she can fit into it now, with a little bit of room to spare.  It's super cute!  Of course I had to take some pictures of her in it.

She was looking at Tigger in this picture.  She really likes to look at stripes, so Tigger is pretty fascinating to her.  Just wait until she can pull his tail.  Hee, hee!

This is one of those common expressions we see on her cute little face.

Wake-up Time 9.30.11

This picture is for the family far away who I really wish could see Jeralyn in every part of her day.  This is what she looks like as she is waking...when she is happy.  Ha!  We swaddle her so she has a better nap.  Her hat usually comes off while sleeping.  Sometimes we find her with her arms sticking out.  They like to escape the swaddle.

9.29.11

It's hard to believe she's already 5 weeks old.  It's going by so fast!  She's getting bigger, filling out more, and her features have become more "defined".  On Monday the 26th she started smiling at me.  Real smiles.  And you really have to work at it to get her to smile.  I don't think Quent has seen a genuine smile from her yet; he is still working on his high vocal chords since that's what really gets her smiling.  Ha!  When she smiles she reminds me of my brother Matthew when he was smiling at that age.  It's something about her eyes.  I'll have to do a photo comparison once she starts to smile more and more and we can capture her on camera.

She can have a very serious look about her.  Quent was talking to her about this one day.  Or rather, he was teasing me about it (since I'm a pretty serious looking person most of the time).  You can see in these pictures that she gets these "triangles" above her eyebrows, like she's in deep thought.  Quent was seeing if he could smooth out the triangles just like he does with me and sure enough she makes the same expression as I do when doing so.  It made me smile knowing that she looks like me, even if it is serious.  It's just the way we look--we cannot help it.  *smile*

Pretty In Pink 9.23.11

We just love our little girl! I hope she doesn't get camera shy or doesn't mind the flash. Hee, hee!

She was 4 weeks old on Wednesday, September 21st. I can't believe how fast it's going! She's growing so fast! We are looking forward to her "real" smiles that are hopefully coming real soon. She's a darling!

Hey Baby! 9.23.11

I bought Jeralyn a couple more flower headbands and so I had to put one on her. Super cute! She was hanging out with Quent in the office when I snapped these photos.

This is an expression before, during or after a yawn.

Baby Play 9.20.11

A week or so ago Quent set up her rainforest floor play mat thing (whatever it's called). Here she is checking out some of the colorful toys hanging from it. It's funny because Quent and I took very similar pictures of her on the mat, but I didn't realize that until uploading all of the photos.

One of Quent's co-workers gave Jeralyn this awesome long-sleeved onesie! I forgot to put her tie-dye socks on for these pictures. Ha!


I love how her finger is pointing up. Maybe it's some kind of dance move?

Yesterday there was a break in the weather, so we decided to go on a walk. I'm still taking it pretty easy as far as exercise is going, so it was a short walk. But it was a windy one! But Jeralyn was all covered and warm in the baby carrier Quent wore. Right after we finished our walk it started raining. We made it just in time! It is officially fall here with this rainy, windy weather. There's more wind/rain coming tonight!

Waking Up 9.16.11

When Jeralyn wakes up she LOVES to stretch and stretch! It's so cute! We are pretty entertained by her stretching. I thought it would be fun to take some photos of her in stretching action.


I think this is her ballerina move.

Hi-ya!

This is her "I hate the camera! I'm hungry! Why don't you stop with all of this and feed me!" face.

I took this photo for Grandpa Smith (after she stretched and ate) because of the cow on her outfit. I was thinking the other day that she will never see a real, live cow in Ketchikan. She'll have to meet some real cows when she visits Grandpa & Grandma Smith's farm in Michigan.

Watching Toys 9.13.11

I set up the little hanging animals above Jeralyn's bouncer and she was checking them out. She's becoming more alert and noticing things more. In these pictures she's 1 day short of 3 weeks old. That went fast!

Quilt Baby 9.11.11

I think I need to be a little bit more creative with taking pictures of Jeralyn at this stage. Until then, I'll be posting a lot of facial expressions. I hope you are enjoying the photos!


She's laying on a quilt I made for her. I left it on the floor and later on Shadow thought it was a perfect kitty bed. Ha!

I put this little shaker toy on her wrist. I'm not sure of the "proper" name for it, but it makes noise when you shake it and it's meant to go around their wrist or on their car seat. She definitely noticed it! It was cute!
