Beach 4.22.12

On this beautiful Sunday we drove out north with plans of a hike and burgers!  We walked down the trail toward Coast Guard Beach, but we didn't stop at our regular stop.  Quent said we should go further down the trail since they extended the trail...and I'm SO glad we did!  I think I found my favorite spot in Ketchikan!  The beach is almost like a real beach (I consider real beaches that have real sand).  The rocks are smooth and I think we could even swim there in the summer (if it ever gets warm enough).

We set Jeralyn down on the rocks and we let her suck on a good-sized rock (not too big and not too small).  She seemed to enjoy it!

Fish-lips!

Feeding her a bottle.

Bedtime book 4.21.12

We read her a book before bed each night.  She enjoys it!  She was scratching her ear because of teething.

Why is she sad? 4.26.12

This evening we went for a walk with Jeralyn in her stroller.  We were heading home in our subdivision when a little girl probably around 7-8 years of age came running toward us and asked us, "Can I see your baby?"  So we strolled over to her and she was like, "Hi baby!"  It was super cute!  Jeralyn looked at her with that serious, observant, but content expression and the little girl asked, "Why is she sad?"  Half-chuckling, I said, "She's not sad, she's just checking you out and wondering who you are."  Then she did peek-a-boo and tried to get her to smile, which did work after a few attempts.  Jeralyn is her mother's daughter.  I wonder if she will be reminded to smile like I have been over the years by friendly folk intimidated by my serious expression.  She loves to be around people, but she is very observant--and her face shows it.

Instagram 4.16 thru 4.22.12

More Instagram photos to share:

We drove out the road and had burgers for dinner.  Ate them in the back of the truck.  Jeralyn thought it was pretty cool!

I didn't want to make dinner one night.

This weird looking photo is the bottom of my coffee mug.

Hee, hee!

I sat in the back of the truck with Jeralyn on the way to the store and she just stared at me with that expression.

Shhh! Baby Sleeping! 4.22.12

I did it!  I got a picture of her sleeping!  Don't you just love those lips?

Helping Daddy 4.21.12

Jeralyn was helping Quent install the new dishwasher.  She loved that he was down on her level.  And he enjoyed her help!

Eating and laughing 4.19 thru 4.21.12

She's starting to eat more "finger foods" and every once in awhile I'll give her something to chew on, like an apple.  She enjoys that!

Laughing at something dad was doing.

Little Crawler 4.19.12

It's hard to take pictures of her now that she's a mover and a shaker.  Whew!  I'm trying my best!

Here she is probably singing and thinking of crawling to me to get the camera.

This is blurry, but she came to get me!

Here comes trouble 4.18.12

Aww!  How could I say that?  Because it's TRUE!  She's starting to find all sorts of things to get into.  Here she was probably thinking about touching the scanner.  We can only do so much "baby-proofing."  She's learning.  We're learning.

Some more Instagram photos to share:

I like taking pictures of food.

Quent and Jeralyn on our walk to get some Subway for lunch.  That's the federal building in the background (where Quent works) along with Deer Mountain (where Quent plays).

Blackened salmon with rice and green beans!

I had to look twice because my eyes didn't believe it!  Ketchikan's first cruise ship of the season.  In mid-April?  WEIRD!

I've been blowing bubbles outside for Jeralyn to watch and pop.

Her new teething toy: a pine cone!

Playground swing 4.14.12

She enjoyed her first swing at a playground.  She looked so tiny in the swing!

Down Under 4.14.12

This silly baby likes to crawl under her Jumperoo, which she doesn't use as much now.  She's much more interested in crawling and exploring.
