Quent and I were playing around with a lens he was borrowing.  We always manage to find some cute photo opportunities.  *snicker*

Eye 6.11.16

The kids were outside one evening and when they came in I noticed that Josh had some blood next to his eye.  I thought it was a bug bite but Quent thinks Jeralyn swung something at Josh (on accident or on purpose I do not know), but no matter, his eye was puffy and sore looking for a couple of days.  Poor little guy!  Oh, and he's totally chewing on a pork chop bone in this photo.  Ha!

Joel Elias 5.16.16

I posted the first photo a few posts ago to compare the kids, but I wanted to share the photo again.  Joel Elias was named by his daddy.  We wanted to keep the "J" name trend going and we really liked the name Joel, but we hadn't settled on a name yet.  One night, when I was trying to fall asleep (pregnancy and sleep aren't always a great combination), Quent asked me, "What about Joel Elias?"  I liked the name right away.  I believe that he was purposely searching the Alaskan maps to find names of places that could be used as a middle name.  Elias is after Mt. Saint-Elias.

Joel really is a happy baby.  He has his moments, but mostly, he's pretty chill.  I often hear comments about the serious faces he makes (oops, he gets that from me.  Hee-hee!).  But if you can get him to light up with a beaming smile, it will just melt your heart.  And he's really ticklish around his neck.  And he's really getting into squealing and happy screams.  We just love this little guy so very much!

Final Dress Rehearsal 5.12.16

The final dress rehearsal took place a few days before Jeralyn's actual performance in the Spring Gala.  Quent went to the final dress rehearsal to take pictures.  They don't allow video due to copyright, and we respect that, so Quent snapped lots of photos.

Jeralyn and her class were fairies and their song was from Peter Pan.  The theme for the Spring Gala was Sleeping Beauty and other fairy tales.

When she's on the stage, she smiles non-stop.  There is a smile on her face the whole time.  Seriously.  She's in her element.  She LOVES it!

She did GREAT in her performance!  We sat in the front row and Joshua really enjoyed watching his sister and all of the young dancers in the performance.  Next year she gets to wear ballet slippers, which is pretty exciting.  I would love to see her go far in ballet, but we shall see.  So far, she's enjoying it very much.

Joel has his own book that he looks at that has fun shapes, colors and patterns.  He will study it while doing tummy time (which he's not that excited about but getting better about).

We had a few days of "summer" type weather.  We had gone to the beach this day but they were still interested in playing in the water, so I set up their pool outside after lunch.

Joel & Josh comparisons

Sometimes when I look at Joel, I feel like I had the same baby (Josh and even sometimes Jeralyn) again.  They definitely look alike.  You can see for yourself:
