All ABOARD!

Natasha and Christina on "Da Boat."

Earl West

The people who live south (as they say in Wrangell) would find this quite comical (at least I do). Quent told me that there is about 177 miles of road here in Wrangell. The island is 15 x 30 miles, so you can imagine the windy roads (like Nemo Loop Road). Earl West is just about one of those places at the end of the road. What I find funny is that this was my first time visiting this place. (I think I need to get out more!)

Anita Bay Overlook

The view from this campsite was beautiful. We brought a picnic dinner up there and had a photo shoot.

Oh what fun!

...it is to ride... Natasha and I had a few (ok...maybe more than that) laughs on the back of the boat.

We invited Quent to join in the fun too!

"Rub-a-dub-dub..."

Another highlight of the river is the hot tubs. We stopped here to take some pictures, soak our feet, feed the mosquitos, and enjoy the beautiful view!

This is Dawson, my friend's son, enjoying the outside hot tub. The water was cooler in this one, which felt great on this warm day.

Shining Through

A piece of ice found its way onto the boat. And after freezing someone's back with it, I (Christina) decided it deserved a picture.

A-Maze of Ice--something unexpected

One BIG highlight of going up the Stikine River is to see the glacier. When our boat brought us to this point, we realized that such a task would be difficult. Our hopes of family pictures in front of the glacier quickly diminished when we concluded that there was no path for us to take through the maze of ice. The ice won!

Discovering the Stikine

Quent's parents (Pete & Doris Smith) and his sister (Natasha) came to visit us for a few days. We love showing our family and friends the beautiful views surrounding us. So that's exactly what we did...
We couldn't ask for a better day for our jet boat tour of the Stikine River. The sky was cloudless! Our journey started with an initual journey across the ocean blue.
