Dude (again) 9.14.14

Quent and Jeralyn made another trek up Dude Mountain and then camped overnight.  I am told there were SO many blueberries!  So there was a lot of consumption of blueberries by a particular little girl.  And there were so many blueberries that she began to throw them into the ponds up on the mountain.  Ha!

She was so cute when she packed her little backpack for the trip.  She asked me to help her get her toothbrush and toothpaste.  She packed her underwear and Quent said that when they were up on the mountain she pulled out two of Joshua's little board books.  Ha!  So they "read" those.  She's a funny girl!

Taking a break to sit and pick berries (with Shelly).

Love the expression on her blueberry stained face!  This was as she got to the very top.

It's not everyday that your typical 3-year old gets to climb mountains and sleep in a tent on top of a mountain.  It's so fun that she gets to experience this with her daddy (and hopefully some day with her mommy).  She loves every minute of it!  And having lots of berries around makes it even better!

There was one day a couple of weeks ago when we walked outside and she said to me, "It's so nice outside.  It's a good day for a hike or to go camping."  I had a good laugh over that one (Quent is training her well!).

Singing and dancing!

At the last minute, I gave Quent a box of Velveeta Shells & Cheese.  He forgot to bring spoons, so he made some spoons with some sticks.  Jeralyn thought it was cool!  Quent was surprised at how much she could eat!  Ha!  He said just because it says, "family pack" that it's not enough for this girl.

The aurora forecast was high for this night, but they didn't see any aurora.  *sad face*

Good morning!  It's a brand new day!

It was foggy down below.  I woke up that morning to the cruise ships bellowing their fog horns.

Blueberries!!

They had a great time together!

Beautiful Water 9.14.14

Quent went rock climbing with a friend and I think this photo he took in the early morning was really beautiful.  He took other photos of his rock climb over the water, but I will leave those photos for him to post.

Dude Mt. with Mom 9.5.14

We went on a family hike together up Dude Mountain.  I wore Joshua in Jeralyn's old baby carrier and Quent wore Jeralyn in the new kid carrier we recently bought.  It was a nice hike, but I felt quite sore from carrying Mr. Moo.

He thought it was really cool to have my ponytail so close to his fingers.  I think I lost a lot of hair this day.  Ha!

He didn't sleep much on the hike, but this is what he looked like when he did.

Happy boy!

And Shelly joined us on our hike as well.

It as pretty foggy, so we missed seeing the sun and the view.  Maybe next time.  Or as Jeralyn says, "Maybe yater (later)."

Jeralyn's 3rd birthday 8.23.14

We celebrated Jeralyn's 3rd birthday a day early with some friends.  It's hard to believe our little girl is 3 years old.  She is amazing!

In the morning she opened up her first present, some princess dresses.  The party's theme was Frozen (like the Disney movie).  She got both Elsa and Anna's dresses.

Her crown.

She chose to wear Anna's dress for her party.  I did a fish-tail braid in her hair.  She looked so beautiful!

Waiting for me to show her the cake I made.

She likes it!

I made an "Anna" cake using my imitation Baked Alaska recipe.  It was super fun to make and she really liked it!

I tried to stick with the Frozen theme even with the food.  There were "snow balls" which were powdered donut holes.  And "snowman noses" which were Cheese Puffs.

And a chocolate fondue (which is part of one of the Frozen songs in the movie).

"We finish each other's sandwiches..."  Another song.

Cake table.  I made the flag banner out of cardstock, ribbon, glitter, and sequins.

Kimberly (our neighbor) holding Joshua, and her daughter Olivia (one of Jeralyn's favorites).

My friend Sarah's daughter, Annika.

Jeralyn next to her friends, Zeke and Kiah (my friend Jessica's kids).

Jeralyn trying out her princess shoes for the first time.

Blowing out her 3 candles.

Sarah's daughter, Rayna (Annika's sister).

She had a fun party!  We enjoyed watching her have fun!
