Glacier National Park :: June, 2018

We were so thrilled to go on another vacation camping trip with our friends Pat and Sara.  We hadn't camped with them for 9 years due to babies being born and location changes.  And this time, all of our children would be joining us.  It was amazing to think about how much had changed in 9 years.  Quent and I had made plans for us to go to Glacier in the beginning of the year and when Sara asked about the possibility of doing a camping trip together, we told her about Glacier and they joined us; we were so excited!

We drove to Glacier and they flew to Missoula, and then we met at a campground on our first night together.  The kids were shy with one another at first, but that didn't last long.

First place to explore (at least photo-wise) was Going to the Sun Road.  We stopped at the top to taking a short walk on the boardwalk behind the visitor's center.

I hadn't planned on it being as cold and snowy as it was (oops!), so we didn't have the gear that would have worked better for this little jaunt.  But it sure was pretty!

This is Olivia, Garrett, and Jeralyn.

We spotted a moose on our drive back to the campground after we drove down Going to the Sun Road.

The kids were smiling for another camera...all eating apples and having lots of fun!

We went on a walk along Two Medicine Lake.  We camped at this pleasant campground for a few nights.  It was cooler than I was expecting, but really open and beautiful!  And a bit windy the first day or so.

Pat did a really great job keeping the kids entertained while hiking.  "We're going on a bear hunt..."  The kids were silly thinking of things they had to "go through".  Skunks.  Bears. Caves.

A waterfall we walked to one evening.

One day we walked on a trail near Many Glacier.  The trail went around Swiftcurrent Lake.  There were some beautiful views.

We had a picnic dinner (spaghetti) after our walk around the lake.

Quent got up early one morning...those pictures may (or may not) be posted some day.

We took a boat across Two Medicine Lake.

I didn't realize that Pat had photo-bombed until I was editing.  Ha!

The boat took us across the lake where we took a walk to a waterfall and then we walked back for a boat ride back across to the campground.

The kids played in the water around the waterfall.

This was our view while waiting for the boat to pick us up.  We heard a lot of folks from Florida comment on how brave our kids were to play in such cold water.  It really wasn't too bad...

We went on a hike...
