Guide sign burried in fluffy white powder. Little did I know that the last days of November would represent the last of the excellent powder days on Deer Mountain. This sign is about a half mile from the Deer Mountain Cabin and about 3/4 mile from the summit.
Christina says that this cornice reminds her of the Grinch's mountain.
Oops, it looks like I double watermarked this photo. Blue Lake sign and cabin. The cabin is really snug, but I'm sure it's really welcoming on a cold, rainy day.

Yeah, it was windy all right. Ice and snow accumulates on only one side of the trail markers/vegetation on these mountain tops.
