My friend Joy and her daughter Grace came for a weekend visit from Wrangell. I'm so glad we are only a ferry-ride away. We enjoyed our time together shopping, going to the coffee shop, etc.
On the Saturday evening they were here there was a 7.7 earthquake about 170 miles from Ketchikan on an island in British Columbia, Canada. We were under a tsunami warning, but the "wave" was only 6 inches. Hawaii got a 2.5 foot wave because of it. It happened about 7:00 pm. We didn't feel it as we were traveling in the car at the time, but people as far north as Juneau could feel the quake. Exciting times!
