Our friend Mike Howell (aka "Mikey") was working in Ketchikan this summer. I spotted him one day at the grocery store and invited him for dinner. I believe it was the next day when he came over and then he and Quent hiked up a trail to spend the night. They were hoping to catch some aurora. I don't believe they captured any aurora, but Quent did capture some sunset/sunrise photos.
