Steep and slick. We hiked up this snow-filled notch almost all the way to the top. We should have hiked it all the way but that's another story.
We had already made quite a bit of progress at this point. This is one of my co-workers Merlin who volunteered (with a little coaxing) to help pack. I really appreciated the help and he really enjoyed the hike. By the time third day he stated that this was the highlight of his Alaskan experience.
That looks alot like a Mountain Harbell (Campanula lasiocarpa) but could be a (Campanula uniflora) can't quite tell...
ReplyDeleteHi - just found your site through Wunderground pics. looked through the whole thing. ran across this picture and thought it looked like Campanula. My husband is a landscape architect in WI so I asked him.
ReplyDeleteHe says "Looks like a Campanula (Bellflower) or Platycodon (Balloonflower) but didn't know they could be that short.
Upon further review...his final thought is Campanula uniflora--Arctic Bellflower
Campanula Chamissonis is another possibility.
