Outside :: 4.9.17

We are enjoying our new yard. Quent has been working on some things in the yard and we are hoping to put in a garden this year.  He had some fence repairs to do, so while he was working outside I snapped a few photos.

Joshua :: 4.7.17

Joel the mole :: 3.27.17

Joel is 13 months in these photos.  At this time, he was just about walking.  We call him "Joel the mole" or as Jeralyn says, "Joel the busy mole" because he is a busy little guy and he gets into so many things.  He "digs" up things and then shows us when he has something he's not supposed to have.  I appreciate his honesty.  Ha!  He's super fun!

Joshua's 3rd birthday :: 3.18.17

Joshua's birthday was pretty low-key.  He opened his presents in the morning and then we traveled over to Lewiston for part of the day to do some shopping and we went out to lunch for his birthday.  He had a good day and he was really excited about his gifts.

Here he is opening Jeralyn's card/gift.  She loves giving gifts.

Joshua is a lot of fun.  His vocabulary has really exploded the last few months.  When people ask him how he is doing, he says, "I'm fee (three)!" And he holds up 3 fingers.  He is a friendly guy, but he also has his moments where he enjoys playing by himself. He's more of a serious guy (like his mama) and he can get riled up quickly (like his mama).  He's really sweet and considerate.  He notices details and he's pretty helpful when he chooses to be.  He somehow learned all of his colors without us really working with him on it (thank you, Jeralyn).  He has the cutest run (yes, I said cute).  We love him so much!

Instagram :: January-March 2017

I didn't use my camera much during these months.  I also recently lost all of my photos on my phone because of my phone biting the dust (and I hadn't backed it up in awhile--oops!).  I'll be able to get some of them back.  Anyway, I wanted to post some of the highlights that I captured on my phone during these months.

This was the prairie on the way to Grangeville one morning.

This was our view from the house we stayed.

Natasha and Quent went skiing.

This was on the way to Lewiston, which is a little over an hour away.  We took Jeralyn with us and Natasha stayed with the boys.

Those are stickers that Joshua decorated his face with.

Joel "helping" me unpack.

We were so happy to have Joel in a high chair again!  Yay!

The kids enjoyed making some Valentine's Day decorations.  I was impressed with how detailed Joshua was in this endeavor.

Joel's chocolate face while eating his birthday cake.

Jeralyn's birthday card/package for Joel.

Decorating cookies.

Our first family "hike".  It wasn't a very successful walk, but it was good to get out.  The snow was still rather deep.  We enjoyed a picnic lunch and throwing snowballs.

Home Depot can be a little boy's paradise.

Joel's 1st Birthday :: February 12, 2017

A lot happened between Christmas and Joel's birthday.  We bought and moved into our new house.  We unpacked the inside of the house in two days (I don't like living with boxes).  Natasha was here to help and so we were able to get a lot done, which was a blessing.  Natasha left at the end of January.  We started to find a routine again and life started to feel normal again.  Yay!

Joel's 1st birthday was a quiet one.  We were very thankful our friends Jeremy and Kate came to celebrate with us.  Joel wasn't feeling so great on his birthday, but he did enjoy some chocolate cake.

Jeralyn loves (this is an understatement) parties.  It doesn't matter what you are celebrating, she wants a party, and the more people and decorations and cake, the better.  So she made Joel some birthday cards, which were quite sweet.

He loved his cake and he was really mad when I tried to take him away from the table.  I thought he was done, but apparently not.

Christmas :: 2016

Wow!  We are so behind on posting on this blog.  Sorry!!

Christmas...this was 5 months ago.  Oops!

The day before Christmas, Jeralyn and Joshua started to get sick.  Natasha had been sick after she arrived.  And then the germs continued to be shared.  I'm starting to wonder if getting together with family in the winter-time is even a good idea, especially when children are involved.  It's like a petri dish and it's not pretty.

We got up on Christmas morning, ready to have Christmas cheer and festivities, but then most spent the day feeling sick.  Not cool.

Because of living in our temporary house, we had no Christmas tree and no decorations.  We did buy a few things to make it somewhat festive, but really, it was bare as far as decorations went.  But the kids enjoyed it despite all of that.  Joshua was excited to see all of the presents.
