Dude (again) 9.14.14

Quent and Jeralyn made another trek up Dude Mountain and then camped overnight.  I am told there were SO many blueberries!  So there was a lot of consumption of blueberries by a particular little girl.  And there were so many blueberries that she began to throw them into the ponds up on the mountain.  Ha!

She was so cute when she packed her little backpack for the trip.  She asked me to help her get her toothbrush and toothpaste.  She packed her underwear and Quent said that when they were up on the mountain she pulled out two of Joshua's little board books.  Ha!  So they "read" those.  She's a funny girl!

Taking a break to sit and pick berries (with Shelly).

Love the expression on her blueberry stained face!  This was as she got to the very top.

It's not everyday that your typical 3-year old gets to climb mountains and sleep in a tent on top of a mountain.  It's so fun that she gets to experience this with her daddy (and hopefully some day with her mommy).  She loves every minute of it!  And having lots of berries around makes it even better!

There was one day a couple of weeks ago when we walked outside and she said to me, "It's so nice outside.  It's a good day for a hike or to go camping."  I had a good laugh over that one (Quent is training her well!).

Singing and dancing!

At the last minute, I gave Quent a box of Velveeta Shells & Cheese.  He forgot to bring spoons, so he made some spoons with some sticks.  Jeralyn thought it was cool!  Quent was surprised at how much she could eat!  Ha!  He said just because it says, "family pack" that it's not enough for this girl.

The aurora forecast was high for this night, but they didn't see any aurora.  *sad face*

Good morning!  It's a brand new day!

It was foggy down below.  I woke up that morning to the cruise ships bellowing their fog horns.

Blueberries!!

They had a great time together!

  1. Love this post! It's so great how you're giving Jeralyn the hiking and camping 'bug' so young. The blueberry face is priceless :-)
