As we descended down the mountain the clouds began to lift, leaving us with spectacular views of the valley.

The initial part of the trail is boardwalk making for mud free hiking.

We stopped at lower Salamander campground where we dried out and warmed up by the fire. A few cookies were consumed there as well.
