Remember our missing camera? Well, it's still lost. Someone out there is enjoying a very nice camera and lens. I tell you, there were times I would think about it and get a sickening feeling in my stomach. Ugh! But guess what? Quent got a NEW camera! Yeah! A Canon 5D Mark III. The focus on this camera is simply amazing! Here are a few of his first shots:

November 5-11, 2012
I'm getting behind, so I thought I would do one big post to finish off what I had uploaded from my camera a few weeks ago:
It just happens to work out that Quent is the one who gives Jeralyn most of her baths. It gives me some time before she goes to bed to get her room ready for bedtime, wash dishes, put away toys, etc. She loves her bath time and sometimes I hear giggles that catch my curiosity. This time Quent gave her some bubble hair.
My friend Sarah came over for a visit with her 2 month old daughter, Annika. Sarah is from a small town in Michigan called Hopkins, which is next to Dorr (where my mom grew up). We met here in Ketchikan a few summers ago and we talked about how we were both originally from Michigan. She was shocked that I knew where Hopkins was and then we figured out she went to school with some of my cousins. Small world!
And then that evening my friend Alicia from Wrangell came over for dinner with her daughter, Lily.
Jeralyn is getting more proficient with the spoon/fork, but she still uses her fingers quite a bit.
I found a recipe on Pinterest for "cloud dough". It's flour and baby oil mixed in equal parts. I figured if Jeralyn tries to eat some of it that it won't be harmful. She was still more interested in eating it, but she played with it a little too. Notice her painted fingernails? So cute!
Quent thought it would be funny to put an empty cereal box on Jeralyn's head. She was tolerant of it for a little while. It was quite funny!

Video: Walking 11.19.12
On October 6th she took her first few solo steps, but yesterday she finally decided to really go for it! Yeah!! This morning she snuck up on me because she's so much quieter walking than crawling. Ha!

Video: Self spoon-feeding 10.18.12
At 14 months she was figuring out how to eat with a fork and spoon. There are times she still uses her fingers, but she's really getting quite good at using utensils.
11.5.12
The first photo is her putting those little puff balls into an empty Parmesan cheese container. I found the idea on Pinterest. It's fun to watch her concentrating when putting the balls into the holes. Oh, and I love her funky hair in this photo. It's getting longer!
I know Quent's face is blurry in this photo, but I LOVE the expression on Jeralyn's face. It's one of her many classic expressions!
High Chair Activities 11.2.12
Jeralyn spends a lot of time in her high chair each day so we have a lot of pictures of her there. Plus she can't get away from the camera. She's getting faster!
P.S. Not officially walking yet.
Here she is "coloring". She's not really into coloring yet, but she is getting the concept. Sometimes it's more fun to try to chew on the crayons.
She was using food as hair gel. Hilarious!

Hello November! 11.1.12
After lunch on the days where it's decent outside, we go out and play on the deck before nap time. And this is the cuteness I captured on camera!
Oh my Darling 10.30.12
She is so CUTE!!! Before bed I give her a sippy cup with milk. It's the only time she gets milk outside of her high chair. I can't remember why she only was in her diaper, socks, and shoes this day, but she's super cute!
Little Piggies 10.29.12
Joy put Jeralyn's hair into pigtails and I thought it was so cute! So I have been putting her hair up into little pigtails ever since. Have you noticed that Jeralyn has a mullet? It cracks me up! Come on hair, grow!!
Joy & an earthquake 10.28.12
My friend Joy and her daughter Grace came for a weekend visit from Wrangell. I'm so glad we are only a ferry-ride away. We enjoyed our time together shopping, going to the coffee shop, etc.
On the Saturday evening they were here there was a 7.7 earthquake about 170 miles from Ketchikan on an island in British Columbia, Canada. We were under a tsunami warning, but the "wave" was only 6 inches. Hawaii got a 2.5 foot wave because of it. It happened about 7:00 pm. We didn't feel it as we were traveling in the car at the time, but people as far north as Juneau could feel the quake. Exciting times!

Hello Swing! 10.18.12
It's really quite pathetic that I didn't take any pictures from the end of our trip until October 18th. Oops! I probably took pictures with my phone, which I will have to remember to share at some point.
Jeralyn is a little obsessed with flowers ("fah-wahs"), so when we go outside (and in her swing) she says, "fah-wah!" and points in any direction with hopes that there is a flower. She likes to hold them, pull the petals off, and possibly eat them. She thinks leaves are "fah-wahs" too, so she is just as pleased to hold onto them. So that's what she did on this beautiful day in her swing. We still have the swing up (it's November 13th). We may get away with keeping it up all winter. We shall see.
Video: Lunch 9.29.12
Aunt Katie feeds Jeralyn yogurt and everyone "helps" (so cute!) Jeralyn in the process.
Video: Splish Splash 9.27.12
Jeralyn decided to get in the tub of water she was playing with at Grandpa and Grandma Smith's house.
