Easter 4.8.12

Easter was a great day!  She and Daddy found her Easter basket, we went to church, she had a great nap, and then we went to a friend's house for dinner.  And the day was gorgeous!  Absolutely gorgeous!

Daddy is showing her the contents of her Easter basket.

Playing in the grass 4.6.12

It was a beautiful evening and the grass (it's more like moss) was dry enough for baby girl to play on.  She just sat there and didn't move a whole lot, but she found a couple of pine cones to play with and kept on touching the grass.  She put a pine cone in her mouth and didn't know what to think of the texture on her tongue, but she kept doing it anyway.

Walk 4.6.12

It was gorgeous out so we went on a walk on the Savage Trail.

I fed Jeralyn lunch while she sat in the backpack.  It worked really well except she didn't care for some of what I fed her.

See what I mean?

Go Tigers! 4.6.12

Here is a Detroit Tigers Fan in the making wearing her daddy's ball-cap:

Diaper Box 4.6.12

Jeralyn still LOVES boxes!  I put her into an empty diaper box and she enjoyed it!  And she really enjoyed when Tigger came to check her out!

She is blurry in this photo, but you can see the joy in her face when she sees Tigger.

Those smiling eyes!

Here she is getting sleepy and rubbing her eyes.

Proud Crawler 4.5.12

She's doing so well with crawling!  She loves the mobility!

Here Kitty Kitty 4.4.12

**No child or animal was hurt during the filming of this video** (snicker, snicker) No seriously!

On the deck 4.4.12

After lunch I took Jeralyn out on the deck.  It was her first time physically on the deck and she enjoyed it!  I put a blanket out, but who wants to stay on a blanket when you can crawl on wood?  Quent said that there shouldn't be a problem with slivers, so I'm happy about that!  I can't wait to let her crawl on the lawn...which should be soon since nice weather is forecasted and it should give it time for the grass (moss) to dry.

Our cats are purely indoor cats, but Tigger likes to go out in his cat carrier on the deck.  Yeah, it's quite hilarious...anyway...  Jeralyn thought it was pretty cool that she got to see the kitty outside too!  Tigger did not though...I think he felt trapped.  Haha!  The little crawler is messing with his world.

Baby Tent 4.3.12

Jeralyn's floor mat has been transformed due to a needed washing.  She's outgrown the hanging toys, so I just have the mat part for her to play with.  When I was working on some stuff on the computer I heard her giggling.  I looked down and she had the mat over her.  So we played peek-a-boo for a little while and then she rolled over so the mat was like a tent over her.  It was so cute!  I had to take some pictures!  Don't worry...I won't leave her alone with the mat.  I can see some of your thought bubbles...

Yarn Play 4.3.12

Since Jeralyn is in the beginning stages of crawling, she needs to get in plenty of practice during her awake times so she doesn't do it during naptime.  You would think all of the new added movement would make her more tired, but in the last few days she has taken a loooong time to fall asleep for some naps or she doesn't nap very long.  I attribute this to her new mobility.  So I'm trying to find fun and interesting things to attract her attention so she will crawl, crawl, crawl--things that she can discover instead of computer cords and the cat water.  I'm always in the same room with her, but she's getting fast and sneaky!  So here she is with a yarn ball that was attractive:

I don't know why, but she got upset and started fussing.

I wanted to add here that Jeralyn has a new cousin born this day!  Aurora Ruth Smith was born!  Another cousin for Jeralyn to play with!  Congratulations Nate, Annie, and Jackson!

Blowing & Spitting 4.3.12

When Jeralyn gets excited about something she "blows raspberries" or spits.  And she has plenty of saliva to spit since she's teething.  She also knows how to blow.  Quent taught her that.  We can ask her to blow and she blows.  And sometimes she whistles while blowing.  She spits and blows at her butterfly mobile hanging above her crib, at random objects, at us, and especially at the cats.  Here she is in action:

"Who, me?"

Clapping 4.3.12

Jeralyn started clapping all on her own. We didn't encourage her at all. But now we can say "Clap your hands!" and she will clap! It's so cute!

Frustration 3.30.12

Jeralyn was spending a lot of time moving around on her tummy, oftentimes going backwards.  As the days drew nearer to officially crawling you could sense her frustration that she wasn't moving forward.

Here (above and below) she probably saw one of the cats walking by; it's a smile guaranteed!

And here we see the frustration!  She likes to squinch up her face and breath hard.  It's interesting to see her express such emotions!

Purple 3.28.12

What a sweet little girl!
I bought her some new flower headbands because the other ones were too small for her.  So far she's okay with wearing them, but I admit I'm waiting for the day when she pulls them off.  Sometimes one slides off and she'll find it and study it.  Her hair is really starting to grow!  Each time I give her a bath I notice that it's longer.

See those two bottom teeth?  She's working on the top left front tooth now.
