"Car" 2.18.13
Jeralyn really likes the little car we got her for Christmas. This day I noticed she had a package of almond flour on the front of it that she had taken out of the lazy Susan. I just had to take a picture! I never know what she's going to find.
Kitty & Shoes 2.17.13
And after breakfast meetup with Tigger on the rug.
A new thing she has been doing is trying on our shoes/slippers. She can walk around in them a little bit.

Valentine's Day 2.14.13
On Valentine's Day we went to the library for story time. All of the kids were dressed in their Valentine's best. So cute! And then we came home and had lunch. I made a peanut butter pie with an Oreo crust. I gave an Oreo to Jeralyn and she remembered what I had shown her before about twisting the cookie. She really likes them!
I asked Quent to take some pictures of Jeralyn and I. I asked her to kiss my cheek...
I pointed to my cheek and she pointed to her cheek. Funny!
I just love her!
And him!
Our sweet family!
Valentine's card 2.12.13
Jeralyn received a Valentine's Day card in the mail from her Great Aunt Mary. She loved the kitty and the flowers on the card. She walked around with it for awhile after I read it to her, and then she sat down in her favorite place to read and studied it for awhile. She loved it! xoxo
Pink 2.9.13
Years ago, my friend Joy had this beautiful pink jacket for her daughter Grace. It has hearts on it and I just liked it right away. I asked her if I could have it for our future daughter and she gave it to me. It's been stored for all of these years for such a time as this. The jacket is a bit too big for her, but the hat seems small. Ha!
Nose 2.9.13
During breakfast I asked Jeralyn to point to her nose. And she did! She is so cute! Of course, she's done this for awhile, but it's fun to capture on camera.
Blanket Time 2.7.13
Sometimes we do blanket time in the office so I can work on the computer. She does 30 minutes of blanket time now and she does GREAT! I'm so glad I stuck with this. It's really taught her about boundaries and some self-discipline. And she loves it!

February 4, 2013
My sister Amanda turned 14 this day. I can hardly believe she's 14!! Where has the time gone? Happy birthday, Amanda! xoxo
Jeralyn reading her Elmo book next to Elmo.
She thought that dipping her sippy cup into her tomato soup would be a much better way of eating it than using a spoon. Silly!
And then we had a "nice" day and played on the deck after lunch.
And I decided it was time to break out the cute XtraTuf boots Annie let us borrow. I love my little Alaskan girl wearing THE Alaskan shoes!
Some hens and chicks my mom sent me a couple of years ago. They are surviving our climate! Yay!
Shadow watching us out the window. Jeralyn think it's cool that the cats watch us!
My sweet girl with her cute pink lips and kissable cheeks!
And *drum roll* this is what we will be working on starting next month. Whoohoo!
"Melmo" 2.2.13
When I was pregnant, my mom sent a "chicken dance" Elmo. Jeralyn was 6 months the first time we showed her Elmo. She thought he was cool then. A few months ago I brought out Elmo and showed how when you press his foot he does the chicken dance. She wasn't impressed at ALL! She cried and was scared. So Elmo sat on her closet shelf just waiting to come out and play again someday. Well, a couple of weeks ago we were at a store and there was some Sesame Street scrapbooking paper for sale. She saw it, pointed to Elmo and said, "Melmo." Surprised, I asked, "What? What did you say?" She said, "Melmo." I had no idea she even knew who he was. She has a book with Elmo in it, but it's not one we read that often. And the scary chicken dance Elmo has been hiding in her closet. So her knowledge of Elmo shocked me. A few days later she spotted Elmo in her closet (way up high on the shelf) and showed interest. I asked her if she wanted to see him. She nodded a very enthusiastic yes (I need to get her nod on video because it's hilarious!). He came down and when I showed her Elmo's moves, she cried. I decided it was time for her to get used to the dancing contraption, so I put Elmo on our coffee table in plain sight. We slowly got her more comfortable with him by asking her where his eyes, nose, and mouth were. And we even got her to give him a "five". But she did NOT want to see him dance!
And now when she is out with me at story time or the rec center gym playing, she goes up to perfect strangers, holds out her arms and asks, "Melmo?" It's slightly embarrassing because people think she's asking where her mom is, but I'm right there watching. Then I explain that she's asking about Elmo and then they understand and tell her they don't know where Elmo is. And she will keep on asking them over and over again, "Melmo?" And she holds her arms out like, "where is he?" She asks about him after she wakes up in the morning and after a nap. She talks about him almost as much as she talks about Shelly. And now, a couple of weeks after being reintroduced to him, she's okay with him dancing--not completely, but she doesn't cry anymore.
So that's the story of Melmo.
Magnets 1.31.13
I had about some of her animal magnets stored away, but I brought them out for her to play with during blanket time. Now she likes to carry the magnets around the house in a Ziploc bag and put the magnets on the fridge, on the front door, on the microwave door (didn't even realize that was magnetic), and on our filing cabinet in our office. So we never know where we are going to see her magnets.

She's so cute!
Licking frosting off of a spatula. Yum!
She started taking the bubbles and putting them on her head. She also tries to pour water over her head.
Cheese!

Instagram Photos
Here are some of my favorite Instagram photos I've taken since the last grouping I posted:
I made these paper flower balls for Jeralyn's room. I want to do more colors.
Silly girl playing on the deck.
About once a week we go to the toddler gym and activity room at the rec center for her to play. She loves it!
Baking Christmas cookies!
Helping mama eat some chocolate.
Natasha, Quent and I in Fallbrook, California
California beach! *love*
Our view from Chad and Mikaela's place. I could get used to this!
We went to see Les Miserables with Natasha and Quent's parents. Almost all of us were suffering from motion sickness from the drive to the theater, so I never finished the movie. Loooong story! I was really bummed because I really wanted to see this movie with Natasha!
Elephants at the zoo!
Blood oranges from the orchard right outside Chad and Mikaela's. Yum!
Giraffes!
Natasha and I shopping in California.
Jeralyn and cousin Josiah.
And with Grandpa and Grandma Smith.
Jeralyn crawled inside of her laundry basket.
And stuffed most of her play food into the play oven. It must actually be the fridge.
This is an area were blocked off for her toys between our living room and dining room.
This is what a toddler looks like when she gets stuck in the lazy Susan! And yes, I snapped the photo before helping her. I'm so mean!
Playing in the snow!
We decided to grow her bangs out, so this is an attempt to keep her hair out of her eyes while it's growing out.
Walking with Daddy in the rainforest.
