So begins our vacation picture posting! We flew into Minneapolis, Minnesota on Friday, September 21st and drove north toward Duluth to visit our dear friends Pat, Sara, and their sweet little baby twins, Garrett and Olivia. This was the first time we were together as parents. We have done many trips with them, so it really meant a lot to us to spend some time visiting with them. We are already planning a trip with them--kid-style!
Our first night with them was eventful as Jeralyn fell back in a chair I had placed her booster seat in. She hit her head pretty hard and had a big ole bump on the back of her head. There was no sign of concussion, but she was really out of it after that and not getting enough sleep the night before because of traveling and our early flight out of Seattle. We put her to bed at 7 pm that night and she slept a solid 12 hours and she slept hard! The bump was gone in the morning! So thankful! As a side (funny) note we can now joke about how she was "knocked" into the time zone (3 hours different from Alaska).
Pat and Sara were our tour guides and showed us the beautiful spots in/near Duluth. You can see the lift-bridge right/center. It was a gorgeous day, with occasional showers, and a little chill in the air.
That evening we took a walk where they showed us how high the water had risen because of the huge amount of rain they received in a single day in June of this year. We were impressed with the crazy amount of rain they received--even being from Southeast Alaska. There were some places they couldn't take us because the rain had washed out chunks of the road.
What a precious and beautiful family!
Jeralyn enjoyed the walk!
