I set up the little hanging animals above Jeralyn's bouncer and she was checking them out. She's becoming more alert and noticing things more. In these pictures she's 1 day short of 3 weeks old. That went fast!

Quilt Baby 9.11.11
I think I need to be a little bit more creative with taking pictures of Jeralyn at this stage. Until then, I'll be posting a lot of facial expressions. I hope you are enjoying the photos!

She's laying on a quilt I made for her. I left it on the floor and later on Shadow thought it was a perfect kitty bed. Ha!

Birthday Boy 9.10.11
This was Quent's birthday. In the past years we always happened to be on vacation during his birthday. This year we weren't hiking the Grand Canyon, visiting Lake Louise, BC, touring the roads in northern Alaska, or canoeing the Stikine River, but he did have a baby to hold, hug, and kiss. Happy 32nd birthday, Quent!

Daddy & Jeralyn 9.8.11
It was time to take some fun photos of Quent and Jeralyn. I'm thankful for the external flash for our cameras since it's so dark here right now. Ugh! I think it's time for a trip to Hawaii... I'd even go to Florida (and I'm not a big fan of the state)! Even during hurricane season! Ha! Just as long as there is sunshine. Anyway...here are my sweethearts:
Hello Baby 9.8.11
She's 2 weeks old as of yesterday! I still get teary-eyed when I think about how fast she's growing. The other day I told Quent we need to take more pictures of her before it's her wedding day. He laughed at me...but seriously! We had her 2-week appointment yesterday and she's 8 lb 10 oz. And she had her first trip to Walmart and the library. These are important firsts...ha!
Mommy & Jeralyn 9.6.11
Jeralyn has a couple of "awake" times during the day: morning & evening. She'll be awake for about 2 hours each time. We try to take advantage of those times when her eyes are open to capture some photos. It's been so dark and rainy here, which isn't very motivating for picture taking. She's our sunshine! But we are so excited because we are supposed to have a really nice weekend here! The forecast is calling for 70 degrees!! Whoohoo! We plan on getting outside and having some nice photo opportunities.

Fingers & Toes 9.2.11
Quent and I had a little photo shoot yesterday. The subject was Jeralyn's toes. It was hard getting the shots I wanted since she kept on moving her feet around. She has ticklish feet like her mama. I will post Quent's version of the photo shoot soon. The weather has been quite dreary here the last few days. I am hoping for some rays of sunshine for more suitable picture taking. I regret to say that I believe fall has come upon us. No longer do we have hope for more beautiful summer days (we only had a few of those days this year anyway). But as I have told my other fellow Southeast Alaskan's, "Let's not forget where we live." Ha! It really was a pathetic summer as far as the weather goes. But now we have another source of sunshine in our lives...our little Jeralyn!
Big Yawn 9.2.11
I caught Jeralyn yawning on camera. She looks just like her daddy does when he yawns. Ha! Except she looks a lot more cute when she does it. I told him that now it's a constant competition between them in who is the cutest...and that she will always win. Hahaha! Poor Quent!
I wanted to do a side-by-side photo comparison with a picture of me when I was around this age, but I cannot get to those pictures at this time. I need to do this when our other computer isn't sick anymore.

Lovin' on the baby 9.1.11
Today we found an opportunity to have a little photo shoot while Jeralyn's eyes were open. The goal was to take a picture for her birth announcement, but we also couldn't resist taking some photos with her. We seriously cannot help but kiss her little cheeks. I can't believe she's one week and one day old today. The time is already going by so fast! Well, I'm off to get some needed rest.
