For the last few years we have gone to our friends James and Laura's house after watching the parade. We had an amazing lunch and hung out the rest of the day with them. Quent did leave a few times times to watch some of the festivities in town. Unfortunately (or is it 'fortunately'? Hmm...), there are no pictures of the fireworks this year. But Ryan took some amazing pictures of the fireworks. (P.S. In the past few years when there has been a fireworks show, Quent had his finger on the camer trigger pretty much the whole time. I would tease him about how he watched the fireworks through the camera. Instead we enjoyed little Ander and Clara oohing and ahhing at the fireworks display. Ander was SO excited! Before the show even started he kept on saying, "Waiting...waiting...")

The 4th's closing festivities

July 3rd
We are behind on posting...again. Quent has lots of pictures to post of some short trips he went on, but it may be awhile before he gets to those. So these are out of order.
Here are a few of the pictures I took on July 3rd. It was the day of the Scrapfish Derby for the kids in Wrangell. It was a beautiful day!

A crowd: not something you see on a typical day in Wrangell. The kids were waiting to see who won the prizes.

Bike Part 1
My dad custom-built this bike for me. I LOVE the orange color, the feel of the bike, everything is perfect! I want to take some more pictures of it for his website, but I'm waiting for an evening with some really pretty evening light. Until then these are some pictures Quent took of it shortly after I got the bike.
Visitor
Quent's brother's friend Ross was in Wrangell working with the medical clinic. He is studying to be a general surgeon. We had him over for dinner a couple of times and Quent spent some time hiking with him. Here are some pictures from their hike.
Happy 7 years!
Picnic
One beautiful evening (I believe it was May 31st) we drove out the road to the Thom's Lake trail with Callie. She is the young lady renting a room from us who works for Crossings. She became part of our family and we really enjoyed her company.

Callie and Christina walking on the trail to the lake.

Here we are enjoying a picnic dinner. I think it was brats, vegs & dip, and grapes. Oh, there were some cookies, too.
