Pre-hike Excitement 8.1.14

Quent and Jeralyn were all ready to go on their hike up Dude Mountain to camp, so before they left, I took some pictures.  Jeralyn was SO excited to be spending that time with her daddy.

Not sure why she was so serious for a split second...

But it didn't last long!

And Shelly got to go too!!

My girl!

Jeralyn is so enthusiastic about life.  I wish I was more like her!  She's just so much fun!  I've been thinking a lot lately that she doesn't take herself so seriously (like her mama) and she just rolls with whatever comes.

Video: Holding Hands 7.30.14

I've been doing "blanket time" with them in the morning after breakfast.  It's not the true blanket time with Joshua since he's not mobile yet, but I like to begin as I mean to go.  Jeralyn thinks it's so fun to do blanket time side-by-side.  She is really starting to interact with him more and show her brother some love.  She was really excited that he wanted to hold her hand.

Floor Road 7.27.14

A friend of ours gave us some paper rolls, so I taped them to the floor and drew some roads on them for Jeralyn to play with her Polly Pocket car and people.  She had fun while it lasted.

Joy's Visit 7.24.14

My friend Joy came to visit for a few days so she could meet Joshua.  We really enjoyed our time with her.  I think Joy is one of Jeralyn's favorite people.  She gets really excited when she sees her.  Joshua really liked her too.

This is one of Joshua's classic expressions.  Who do you think he looks like?

All about turtles 7.23.14

Jeralyn LOVES turtles!  I bet I've said that a LOT on this blog.  It's so true!  If there's a turtle, she will find it.  If we tell her there's a piece of mail for her, she says, "Dares turdles in it?"  Life is about turtles to this girl.  Oh, and Frozen.

Sweet Boy 7.23.14

It's one of those photos where your heart just melts all over.  xoxo

"E" 7.22.14

The "E" puzzle piece was missing.  I asked her if she knew where it was.  A little while later I came back to find the puzzle like this:

She found the "E" magnet from off the fridge and put that in the E spot on the puzzle.  I was thrilled to know she knew what the "E" was and that she was so creative in placing an "E" in the spot.  Ha!

Watercolor Painting 7.21.14

I thought I would try something new with Jeralyn.  She enjoyed watercoloring.  It was funny though because she would paint with all of the darker colors first.  So she went from black, to brown, to purple, to blue, etc.  The other day I asked her what her favorite color is and she said, "Green!"  I'm not convinced though.  She doesn't really favor one color over another, but I do think she likes blue the most.

Cutie-pa-tootie 7.12.14

This was Joshua's first time sitting in the Bumbo.  I remember doing this with Jeralyn the first time.  He thought he was pretty cool!

Cupboard Cutie 7.12.14

We are in the process of updating our kitchen.  Jeralyn thought it would be fun to play with Shelly inside of one of the new kitchen cabinets.  So cute!

Cutie 7.6.14

Here's our teething little boy...

We just love him!

Two Kids in a Tub 7.3.14

Since our kitchen sink was no longer in use due to our kitchen project, we were using the kids' bath for washing dishes since it's closest to the kitchen.  So they took a bath in our bathroom.  And I believe this was the first time they took a bath together in the same tub.  They both thought it was pretty cool!

He was smiling at Jeralyn.  They are going to have so much fun playing in the bath together someday!

Cheese! 7.3.14

Have you ever seen anything cheesier?  She's our happy little girl!

Happy Coloring 7.3.14

Jeralyn has been enjoying coloring in her coloring books with markers.  And it's a good thing they are washable markers!  Ha!

Joshua and the Jumperoo 6.28.14

We thought it was time to bring out the Jumperoo for Joshua.  He was ready for it, for sure!

Jeralyn was showing him how it works.

Notice who Joshua is holding?  He must be pretty special to be able to hold Shelly.

The Parade 7.4.14

Here are some pictures from our 4th of July festivities:

We didn't get too far down the road before we hit a traffic jam (which is a rarity here).  The parade was starting on our end of town, so it took a little longer to get to where we normally watch the parade.

Before the parade started, we visited the food booths.  Jeralyn and I shared a piece of pie.  Or should I say, Jeralyn shared some of her pie with me.  Ha!

It felt like the parade took forever to get to us.  Jeralyn couldn't wait!  I think she was anticipating the candy.

I wore Joshua in the baby carrier the whole parade (which again, took a long time to come our way).  There was a lot of bouncing and patting going on to keep him happy.

Jeralyn's friend Olivia was in the parade.

Holding her candy bag and watching the parade.

After the parade was over, Olivia came to visit with Jeralyn.  Jeralyn was showing her the candy she picked up during the parade.

Jeralyn went to bed at normal time that night, and then we woke her at 10:30 so she could go with Quent to watch the fireworks (at 11:00 pm).  She enjoyed them very much!  One of the first things she told me was that there wasn't any turtle fireworks.  Ha!

Painting 7.4.14

We are working on updating our kitchen.  We had some time to paint the morning of the 4th of July, so we did just that.  Jeralyn had fun helping.

One Duck Trail 6.19.14

A few pictures Quent took when he was working on Prince of Wales on the Hydaburg Road:

Heceta 6.16.14

Quent gets to see some cool places for work!  Such a beautiful day and beautiful scenery!  We love living in such a beautiful place!  Southeast Alaska is amazing!

Da Beach 5.27.14

One late afternoon, we met our friend's Samantha and Abby at the beach.  It was a low tide, so the kids had fun looking for fish, starfish, and other sea creatures.  Joshua slept in the baby carrier.

She loves the beach!!
